144 Hours Without Food or Water... My 6 Day Dry Fast Experience
Our body is truly miraculous... Capable of so much more than we've been led to believe. As some might know, I recently did 144 hours of dry fasting, which means not a drop of water or crumb of food entered my mouth for the entire duration. From a "modern science" perspective, I should be dead from doing such a seemingly crazy thing. But here I am, feeling good as new.
Now I'm not suggesting anyone just go out and try this. Dry fasting comes with quite a bit of risk if not done properly. I have been practicing for years now, working up to this point. And I'm pretty well versed in research that's out there. So this is definitely not medical advice, merely an account of my experience. As always, proceed at your own risk with anything discussed.
So let's talk about it. I'll give a general overview of dry fasting, the pros and cons, going over the process I've followed from preparation to fast to refeeding. And I'll give specifics on this last experience that really stood out. And I'll share why so many DON'T recommend trying it - the risk that is involved. But also the reward... I'm incredibly grateful for those who have courageously walked this path before me from whom I have learned so much from, most notably Fasting with Trevor and Vegetable Police (links to their content below).
