Long:

My name is Justin Carpenter.

For over five years I've been teaching people how to remember who they really are and dissolve what was never theirs to carry. That work now takes shape as the eight storms of life: breakup and divorce, sickness, losing a loved one, job loss, financial crisis, narcissism, chronic pessimism, and identity congestion.

There is nothing wrong with you. That's where I start with everyone. What feels broken is usually a set of needs and attachments you picked up somewhere along the way, and they can be set down.

I work with the inside first. Circumstances have a way of settling once the person inside them does. It isn't abstract and it isn't complicated. It's practical, and you can use it the same day you learn it.

My premise is simple: nothing outside you shifts until something inside you does.

If you're in one of the storms right now, you're in the right place.

Topics I speak on

I work with people going through eight distinct storms. Any of them can anchor an episode.

The Eight Storms of Life:

  • Breakup and Divorce

  • Sickness

  • Losing a Loved One

  • Job Loss

  • Financial Crisis

  • Narcissism

  • Chronic Pessimism
(the habitual loop of finding fault, playing the victim, and expecting the worst)

  • Identity Congestion
(the exhaustion of shape-shifting for approval until your true center is buried)

Some angles that work well:

-Why fixing your circumstances never fixes the feeling
The most common mistake people make in a crisis, and what to do instead.

-The exhaustion of being who everyone needs you to be
Identity congestion: what happens when you shape-shift for approval long enough that you lose your own center.

-What a storm is actually for
Every crisis carries something. How to find it without spiritually bypassing the pain.

-Doing everything right and nothing changes
For people who've done the work, read the books, said the affirmations, and are still stuck.

-The secret agenda you brought into your relationship
What you were really after when you chose them, and why it wasn't what you said it was.
